Dreamnight at the Zoo

For the 5th year, the Sac Zoo will host Dreamnight - a special evening for children chronic illnesses or disabilities and their families who may often feel isolated to come together and enjoy the Zoo.

The international event began in the Netherlands and is always on the first Friday in June. Hundreds of zoos around the world participate and open their doors to special needs children.

"Thank-you for a wonderful night at the zoo. My son, daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We loved seeing the red pandas on their perches, sleeping away. My typically developing daughter was able to see other families like ours, with a child with special needs and siblings all out enjoying life together. She often feels isolated and different. This gave her opportunity to enjoy herself and her brother without the embarrassment that sometimes plagues her in other situations. Again, thank-you!"
